I am a graduate student at SMU Guildhall, studying video game production. I have published two games on Steam. My most recent Steam published project, Space Smack!, is a party game with quick, chaotic minigames focused on sabotaging the other players. Haberdashers, also published on Steam, is an arcade racing game, where miniature humanoid beings race each other inside of an average-sized, everyday home.
I received my bachelor’s degree in public relations and creative writing from Virginia Tech. During my undergraduate, I was a member of the game development club and the GAMER Lab. In the GAMER Lab, I participated as an undergraduate research assistant, investigating the social science of video games. I also participated in a VR project as a writer where the players interacted with a live actor.
In my spare time, I love to write, read, sew, horseback ride and, of course, play video games. I also volunteer for my former school system, coming in to speak to the students about my work. I belong to a group called the Fandames which is a group of women who work to make the ‘nerdy’ community a more safe place for women and underrepresented groups to belong. We attend cons, run booths, cosplay, and host panels to make sure everyone can find a place where they feel comfortable enjoying their interests.
